CENTRAL CITY, Ky. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A Hopkinsville woman has been arrested and accused of sneaking drugs into a Kentucky prison.

On October 20, a Kentucky State Police (KSP) trooper was dispatched to The Green River Correctional Complex to investigate a promoting contraband complaint.

Investigators determined 36-year-old Jenicia Bussell of Hopkinsville, KY, entered the prison and was caught by the prison staff with drugs.

During the encounter with prison staff, Bussell allegedly assaulted a staff member and threatened others. The staff member sustained minor injuries.

Bussell was arrested and booked into the Muhlenberg County Detention Center where she was charged with the following:

1.) Promoting Contraband– 1st Degree
2.) Tampering with Physical Evidence
3.) Menacing
4.) Assault 3rd Degree- Police Officer or Prob Officer
5.) Trafficking in Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense- (> or = 2 Grams Methamphetamine)
6.) Trafficking in Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense- (> or = 4 Grams Cocaine)
7.) Trafficking in Marijuana (Less than 8 oz.) 1st Offense
8.) Trafficking in Controlled Substance, 2nd Degree, 1st Offense- (> or = 20 Dosage Units Drug Unspecified Schedule 3)
9.) Drug Paraphernalia- Buy/ Possess
