CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Hopkinsville Police Department (HPD) will conduct DUI checkpoints beginning New Year’s Eve and continuing into the early morning hours of New Year’s Day.

“Reducing alcohol-related injury or fatal collisions and providing safety to the community is a priority of the police department,” said spokesman Paul Ray. “By having these DUI checkpoints, it’s the department’s mission to reduce the number of impaired drivers traveling our streets.”

Police ask citizens to plan ahead and designate a sober driver.
