HOPKISNVILLE, Ky. – Beginning Friday, Dec. 12, the Hopkinsville Police Department will join other state and local law enforcement agencies to make Kentucky highways and roads safer during the holiday season.
“Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” is a public safety campaign initiative involving state, county, and city law enforcement officers across the United States. It will be implemented during the holiday season (Friday, December 12 through January 1.)
Hopkinsville motorists can expect to see an increase in saturation patrols and sobriety checkpoints.
More than 10,000 people are killed each year in the United States as a result of drunk drivers behind the wheel of vehicles.
Hopkinsville police urge citizens to plan ahead and designate a sober driver.
