HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – Marc Daniels, pilot for the Hopkinsville, Ky., Air Evac Lifeteam base, was recently honored as the company’s 2015 National Pilot of the Year. He received the award at the Air Evac Lifeteam National Awards Banquet in St. Charles, Mo.
Daniels has worked for Air Evac for 11 years, and also serves as a flight simulator operator.
Tony Bonham, senior director of flight operations for Air Evac, said Daniels’ attention to detail and safety-conscious attitude prompted him to create Pre-Established Landing Zone books for his base.
“Marc worked with EMS supervisors and used Google Earth to create these detailed books, helping to ensure the safety of the other pilots and the medical crew at the base,” Bonham said.
Daniels said it was an honor to receive the Pilot of the Year award. He enjoys being a pilot for an air medical company.
“Helping folks in need is so fulfilling,” he said.
Air Evac Lifeteam, headquartered in O’Fallon, Mo., is the largest independently owned and operated air medical service provider in the United States, with more than 120 air medical bases across 15 states.
