HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – A Hopkinsville man was arrested for allegedly trafficking methamphetamine Wednesday in Christian County.

According to a news release, police conducted a traffic stop at the Pennyrile Parkway and Eagle Way Bypass.

When the vehicle pulled over, 29-year-old Quentin Cherry of Hopkinsville got out and threw a plastic bag as he fled on foot.

Cherry was apprehended a few minutes later and taken into custody.

The plastic bag contained 29 grams of crystal methamphetamine, needles, and small plastic baggies typically used to distribute narcotics, according to police.

The street value of the narcotics is an estimated $2,900.

Cherry was charged with evading police, tampering with evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia, and trafficking of methamphetamine.
