Hopkinsville, KY. – While there are 59 entities offering online post-secondary education in Kentucky, Hopkinsville Community College occupies the position as 5th best statewide.

Over 2800 universities and colleges were ranked in the national project. HCC ranked 102nd in the nation, according to the recent release by OnlineColleges.com.

To recognize the best online colleges in the United States, OnlineColleges.com reviewed data from National Center for Education Statistics’ Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) to rank over 2800 accredited colleges and universities. The universities had to meet 11 criteria, including metrics on number of programs offered via distance education, percentage of students participating in distance education, tuition costs, and consideration of military training.

“Ranking as the 5th best online college in Kentucky is a tremendous accomplishment, and a real recognition of the hard and dedication of our faculty and staff to make the online educational experience rich and relevant for our students,” said Dr. Jay Allen, President/CEO of Hopkinsville Community College.

Hopkinsville offers 179 online courses this fall, with a total number of enrollments of 3075 to date.

The second 8-week fall term at HCC begins October 17. HCC is hosting a College and Coffee Enrollment Fair on Tuesday, September 27 from 7 AM to 2 PM at Mugsy’s Coffee Company in Clarksville.
