Hopkinsville, KY. – Hopkinsville’s youngsters get to enjoy a double dose of Halloween treats next week with the city’s Downtown Trick-or-Treat event with merchants and city supporters on Friday.

This event will be followed by the traditional citywide Halloween celebration on Saturday, October 31.

Friday’s downtown festivities will run from 3:30-5:30 p.m. directing little goblins down South Main Street from 6th to 13th streets. Kids from walking age to 12 years old are invited to participate and must be accompanied by an adult.

Halloween night’s citywide trick-or-treating always brings out thousands of youngsters in neighborhoods throughout the city. Hopkinsville Police Department officials urge everyone to use caution when trick-or-treating, whether the visits are to neighbors, family members, or businesses.

“The Hopkinsville Police Department wants to remind everyone to be careful this Halloween. And if you’re going be out after dark trick-or-treating, remember to shine a light so motorists can see you,” said Hopkinsville Police Chief Clayton Sumner.
