HOPKINSVILLE, Ky (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Jordan Seth Peveler was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of sexual misconduct with a minor. The Hopkinsville band teacher was taken into custody by Hopkinsville Police at 1:41 p.m. and charged with Unlawful Transaction with a Minor (Second Degree), Sodomy (Third Degree), and Rape (Third Degree).

According to police records, in June 2017 Peveler knowingly provided marijuana to the then 16-year-old victim at his home in Hopkinsville. After she was under the influence, he allegedly assaulted the minor.

At the time, the defendant was in a position of authority over the victim. He was her high school band teacher at Hopkinsville High School.

Peveler had come into contact with the victim because she was a student at Hopkinsville High School.

In August 2017, after the victim was 17-years-old, the Peveler allegedly brought the same victim to his home in Hopkinsville. At that time, the police report states he had sexual intercourse with her. He was still the Hopkinsville High School band director at that time.

Bond was set at $10,000. Anyone with information on the case should contact Hopkinsville Police Department at 270-890-1522.
