FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. – The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) will host an Honor Eagle ceremony March 4 to bid farewell to Brig. Gen. Mark R. Stammer, deputy commanding general (operations) and 101st Acting Senior Commander.

The ceremony also serves to welcome Col. Steven W. Gilland as the new deputy commander (operations) and 101st Acting Senior Commander

The event will take place in the atrium located inside the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) headquarters building at 10 a.m.

Stammer will be departing Fort Campbell for his next assignment as Commander, Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa, Operation Enduring Freedom, in Djibouti, Africa.

Colonel Gilland will be arriving to the 101st, having recently served as the 1st Calvary Division Chief of Staff at Fort Hood, Tx, and the Combined Joint Task Force-1 Chief of Staff in Afghanistan.
