CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Many teams from the Clarksville-Montgomery County area either traveled to or hosted a holiday tournament over the winter break. Here are the results from the schools who participated.

Farrior takes Eagles to new heights

On Saturday, Northeast boys basketball defeated tournament-host Caldwell County to win the Sixth Annual West Kentucky Hoops Classic. Isaiah Farrior led the Eagles with 20 points and six steals to earn MVP honors. Marcus Averthart finished with 16 points and knocked down four three-pointers.

The Eagles took down Paducah Tillman (KY) 56-37 in the Sixth Annual West Kentucky Hoops Classic on Friday. Ty Jackson led all scorers with 17 points, four assists and five steals. Joshua Alexander & Jalen Hooks combined for 21 points and 14 rebounds.

Lady Eagles win two games in Zaxby’s Holiday Tournament

Northeast girls basketball defeated Greenbrier 43-37 Monday to take fifth place in the Zaxby’s Holiday Tournament. Cierra Bowser had a game-high 19 points while Kahlia Flowers added eight points.

The Lady Eagles also picked up a 51-41 win over Kenwood on Saturday.

Lady Hawks soar to first place in Franklin

Rossview girls basketball moved to 11-2 on the season with a 55-51 victory over Loretto to win the Middle Tennessee Invitational Tournament on Monday at Franklin High School.

Ever Walker and Maggie Croom were named to the all-tournament team while Courtney Daniels earned MVP honors.

The Lady Hawks defeated the host team Franklin 51-41 to advance to the championship game on Saturday after defeating Gleason 59-35 on Friday in the opening game of the tournament.

Rossview picks up win number one on the year

Rossview boys basketball finished in sixth place at the Middle Tennessee Invitational Tournament. The Hawks fell to Loretto 51-48 in the fifth-place game.

Rossview picked up its first win of the season earlier in the tournament, defeating Nolensville 55-47.

Wildcats come up short in Willie Brown Memorial Tournament

On Thursday in their first game of the Willie Brown ’65 Memorial Basketball Tournament, Clarksville boys basketball defeated Father Ryan 50-46. Nick Keener scored 12 points while JJ Wheat and Jamarco Mimms each added 10 points.

The Wildcats fell to Hillsboro 55-52 on Friday. Wheat and Keener both tied for a game-high in points with 16 each.

On Saturday, CHS suffered another narrow defeat to Brentwood 64-61. Wheat finished with 25 points while Mimms added 24 points for Clarksville.

CHS claws out win in Zaxby’s Holiday Tournament

Clarksville girls basketball took down Kenwood 60-46 Monday for seventh place in the Zaxby’s Holiday Tournament. The Lady Knights were led by Reagan Fisher’s 14 points and Iyanna Curtis had 11 points.

Knights finish outside of top three at home

Kenwood boys basketball finished in fourth place on Monday, as they hosted the Zaxby’s tournament. The Knights lost to Blackman 58-46 in the third-place game.

Kenwood opened up the tournament with a 59-42 win over Portland, but fell to Summit 71-53 in their second game.

Rankhorn records career day against Bulldogs

On Friday, Montgomery Central boys basketball’s Isaac Rankhorn recorded a career-high 31 points in a 62-55 loss on the road at Hickman County.

Moss’s big day propels Vikings to overtime victory

Northwest boys basketball’s Ametri Moss scored 34 points on Friday to help the Vikings beat Hunters Lane 71-70 in overtime.
