INDIAN MOUND, Tenn. – Holiday markets are a mainstay of the season, inspiring shoppers to bag homemade gifts and last-minute stocking stuffers. The 6th Annual Christmas Open House and Craft Show at Lylewood Inn is just one of those.

Lylewood-Christmas-lightsAnd the timing – from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. – on Sunday, Nov. 30 is perfect because the inn’s owner, Mandy Williams, will be serving up some old-fashioned plate lunches. Entrees will include pork tenderloin or chicken-and-dumplings with vegetables and a drink for $6.50. Williams makes everything from scratch and has even published a cookbook, “Back in Time Cookbook,” which she sells at the inn.

“A lot of people come from church, it’s just a fun day,” says Williams.

Lylewood Inn Bed & Breakfast is located at 110 Camp Lylewood Road in Indian Mound, just west of Clarksville.

The market is a wonderful opportunity for visitors to enjoy lunch and shop, as well as walk around the historic mansion on unguided tours.Holiday-dec-front-door

Every room in the mansion will be filled with crafts and homemade goods. Among the featured items will be crochet works, recycled wood items, jewelry, preserves and pickles. Williams will also make and sell seven to nine different kinds of homemade quick breads, including cinnamon bread, lemon poppy seed bread, zucchini, strawberry bread and banana bread. She will also offer about 20 different kinds of jams and jellies.
