CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Hilldale Kiwanis Club recently donated $200 to the local FUEL program, which provides food for children whose only food source may be the food they receive at school.
Denise Skidmore, the Founder of FUEL remarked, “the homeless and hungry are all around us.”
Since the program began in November of 2004, FUEL has gone from providing weekend food for 11 children to packing bags for 2,000. Many churches and organizations are now involved, collecting, purchasing and packing food for children in the area.
The program continues to grow, though it is still in need of assistance from those in the community. To become involved with FUEL, visit the organization website.
