CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Flooding on the Red River is over, but we still have high water on the Cumberland, according to the National Weather Service.
Several areas of Clarksville were still inundated with water on Tuesday, including the Riverclub Golf Course.

On the north side of town, one Jeep driver had to be rescued by Clarksville firefighters after he tried to cross deep water on Ashbury Road near Shanee Terrace, just off Fort Campbell Boulevard.
For the next couple of days, things should dry out, but we have a chance of showers and storms through the weekend.
Red River crests
The Red River at Port Royal crested at 35.81 feet Monday afternoon, and the water level has been dropping fast. That’s almost 6 feet over the 30-foot flood stage.
At 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, the stage was 22.5 feet and dropping.

Advisory on Cumberland River
We remain under a Flood Advisory for the Cumberland River at Clarksville through 7:45 a.m. Wednesday.
The river crested at 42.05 feet early Tuesday morning. At 6 p.m. Tuesday, the level was 41.32 and dropping. Flood stage is 46 feet.
At 43.0 feet, water continues to inundate low lying areas along the river, including agricultural areas, access points, portions of Riverfront Park on North Riverside Drive, and low lying areas of industrial property on Zinc Plant Rd. Water also backs up adjacent tributaries, including Barton’s Creek, Red River, West Fork Red River, and Yellow Creek.
