CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Rotary Club’s Basketball Season Kickoff was held Wednesday at First Baptist Church as coaches from around the community came together to celebrate a new season of play.

The majority of the Clarksville-area boys’ and girls’ basketball coaches attended the luncheon and spoke about their teams heading into the new year.

The conversations’ ranged from teams’ replacing key players from last year’s graduating class, how to build a team’s culture from the ground up and players to watch out for going into the new season of play.

A number of new head coaches were introduced and touched base on the process of building a foundation within their basketball programs. Those head coaches included the following:

  • Kirkwood High girls’ basketball coach Christopher Carney.
  • Northeast High boys’ basketball coach Wayne Brimley.
  • West Creek boys’ basketball coach Matthew Hardaway.
  • West Creek girls’ basketball coach Mikaela Colemon.
