CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (Clarksvillenow.com) Children in Clarksville have a new place to have fun this summer. It’s the All-Inclusive Playground and Splash Pad at Heritage Park. The new facility opened Thursday, May 26 and after a brief ceremony and ribbon cutting the playground and splash pad quickly filled with youngsters ready to have great time.

Mayor Kim McMillan said this about the playground and splash pad. “We are so lucky in Clarksville to have a community that really comes together and volunteers and wants to have these kind of playgrounds and facilities where all of Clarksville can come together,” said McMillan.

The community can enjoy the new playground and splash pad regardless of their ability and both areas meet Americans with Disabilities Act guidelines which makes it the first of its kind in the city. All areas are wheelchair accessible with the play structures including ramps. There are picnic tables and benches and plans are to add a pavilion and tables later this summer.

The playground and splash pad was a project made possible by the hard work and donations of the Clarksville Rotary, Sunset Rotary and Sunrise Rotary Clubs. All three Rotary clubs say their contributions would not have been possible without help from so many members of the Clarksville and Rotary community and they would like to thank the following for their gifts of resources, time and energy to the project:

Community Health Foundation
The Home Depot Foundation
CDE Lightband
Orgain Ready Mix
Gary Bridges Concrete

Green River Rentals
Sam’s Club
