Herbert Stephen McGinnis, age 81, of Clarksville, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Tennova Healthcare, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born July 1, 1941, in Jacksonville, FL, to the late Herbert McGinnis and Ruth Marie Sandlin.
Herbert is survived by his wife of 43 years, Chitar McGinnis; daughters, Christina (Mark) Hyatt and Debi (Tom) Smith; a sister, Sharon Biddle and five grandchildren, Brinley Hyatt, Nyla Jane Hyatt, Jake Smith, Suni Smith and Alex Smith. He was a Vietnam Veteran where he served as an army medic as a member of the 5th and 7th Special Forces Group and retired from the Army with the rank of Master Sargent. He was also retired from the US Government as a mail carrier.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, December 11, 2022, in the Chapel of Neal Tarpley Parchman Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday, December 11, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service.
