CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Clarksvillenow.com With temperatures forecast in the 90’s and heat index values at or near 100 degrees this week, the Clarksville-Montgomery County Community Action Agency (CMCCAA), Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, is there to help residents with their utility bills.

Robert Davis, Community Program Director for CMCCAA, talked about the program. “We are able to assist low-income clients with anywhere from $300 to $600 toward their utility bill. This is not the cable but just their energy use,” said Davis. Davis added that a crisis appointment can also be set up in an emergency for anyone that is elderly or disabled and needs help

Approved applicants can receive credit toward their propane, natural gas or electric bill. Everyone applying must show proof of all household income, social security cards for everyone in the household, valid photo ID’s for anyone 18 years or older, and the past 12 months of energy usage.
