Helen Louise Chandler Llewellyn Nelson, age 79, of Clarksville, died Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Gateway Medical Center.
She was born March 28, 1935 in Davidson County, TN, to the late Melvin Lee Chandler and Mary Louise Slate Chandler. Helen was also preceded in death by her first husband, Richard G. Llewellyn; son, Robert G. Llewellyn; stepdaughter, Sharon K. Cush; brother, Jerry Emmett Chandler; and sister, Barbara Chandler Massey.
Mrs. Nelson was a volunteer for the Red Cross and a member of Hilldale Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 4 at Hilldale Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Robertson and Bro. Tim Munoz officiating. Burial will follow at Benton County Memorial Gardens in Camden, TN. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3 at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, and on from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Thursday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Adam Bailey, Ryan Sullivan, Terry Chandler, Jr., Michael Chandler, Brady Chandler, Jeff Massey, and Richard Llewellyn.
Helen is survived by her husband, Madison “Matt” Verdell Nelson; stepson, Kenneth (Lynn) Nelson, of South Point, NC; daughter, Donna (Mike) Bailey, of Huntingdon, TN; brother, Terry Melvin (Cornelia) Chandler, of Centerville, TN; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
