Heidi was born on July 20, 1992, in Tacoma, WA. As a military child, she lived and attended schools in Alabama, North Carolina, Louisiana, and Tennessee. She attended Glenellen Elementary School, Northeast Middle School, Northeast High School, and graduated from West Creek High School in 2011. Heidi went to the University of Tennessee in Knoxville to pursue a degree in psychology. She was diagnosed with cancer during the middle of her sophomore year. Heidi was determined to stay in school and complete her degree, despite treatment and numerous trips to Vanderbilt, she never lost sight of that goal. As a result of her struggle, Heidi developed a strong desire to help empower girls and young women in third world countries. She felt that her battle with cancer had enabled her to be a beacon of hope and encouragement to those facing life issues that seem overwhelming and hopeless.
Heidi was a gifted piano player, she enjoyed baking and cooking, she loved her cats, and never passed on an opportunity to go shopping. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
