CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The National Weather Service in Nashville is forecasting heavy rain as the remnants of Hurricane Harvey pass through Middle Tennessee later this week into the weekend.

Meteorologist Josh Barnwell said the initial rain from Harvey is expected late Wednesday into early Thursday, with the heavier showers coming later Thursday, Friday and into Saturday.

Some localized flooding is a possibility with the current forecast showing rain chances dropping late Saturday.

Barnwell says it’s too early to predict severe weather, but two to five inches of rain is expected Thursday through Saturday with a lower chance of rain into Sunday and Monday, Labor Day.

Temperatures throughout the weekend will be in the high 70s to low 80s.
