CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The National Weather Service said the heat index will reach the mid-90s to near 100 for the rest of the week and continuing through the weekend in the Middle Tennessee area.
The public is asked to take necessary precautions to prevent heat exhaustion or heat stroke. Do not leave children or pets unattended in vehicles; temperatures inside the vehicle can reach the triple digits in minutes. When engaging in outdoor activity, be sure to stay hydrated and seek shade.
