CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – With dangerously hot conditions and heat index values up to 113 possible, Clarksville will be under an Excessive Heat Watch from Thursday morning through Thursday evening.
“Extreme heat and humidity will significantly increase the potential for heat-related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities,” according to the National Weather Service.
Natural highs are expected to hit 99 on Thursday, 101 on Friday and 98 on Saturday. Humidity will cause it to feel much hotter.
“Be prepared to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors,” the NWS alert said.
“Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. This is especially true during warm or hot weather when car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.”
