CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The heat wave continues into a second day today, with a high of 96 degrees and a heat index of 107 expected.
Montgomery and surrounding counties are under a Heat Advisory from noon today through Friday at 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. A heat index of up to 107 is expected every day.
At 5 p.m. Tuesday, the temperature at Outlaw Field topped out at 94 degrees, and the heat index hit 104.
“Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses to occur,” the NWS said. “Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.

There’s little relief in site, with highs rising to 97 on Wednesday and near 100 on Thursday. Here’s the outlook:
