CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – With daily afternoon temperatures expected at 95 or higher all week, and heat indexes of 105 today and Tuesday, the National Weather Service has extended its Heat Advisory for all of Middle Tennessee through Friday at 7 p.m.
“The first major heat wave of the season is upon us, and we will see a prolonged period of hot and humid weather through the week,” the NWS said. “There will be a quick onset of stressful heat levels.” The NWS advises people limit time outdoors between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. If you must be outdoors, stay hydrated and take frequent breaks.
Sunday’s high was just shy of 92 degrees from 3-6 p.m., with the heat index reaching 100.
