CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW)- A Fort Campbell soldier charged with killing a teenage boy last week has had a bond set and a preliminary hearing scheduled.
Jamison T. Mullins, II, 25,who is listed as a US Army soldier, is charged with one count of criminal homicide in the Friday, March 13, shooting death of 15-year-old Damariontae Brown.
On Friday, March 13 at approximately 3 a.m., Clarksville Police responded to a shooting in the 3000 Block of Dresden Way.
When police arrived, they found Damariontae in the roadway deceased from a single gunshot wound.
According to his arrest warrant, Mullins admitted to police that he shot the teen just after he saw him allegedly breaking into his wife’s car that was parked in their driveway.
Mullins did not have a gun permit, according to his warrant.
He was originally held in the Montgomery County Jail without bond.
On Monday, March 16, a judge set his bond at $100,000.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at 1:30 p.m. Since the courts have closed due to the coronavirus, a status update is scheduled for April 6, with the hearing to be scheduled at that time.
During the hearing, more information on what happened on March 13 will be presented to a judge.
