CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (ESPN CLARKSVILLE) – For the second time in less than a week, another high school football team is without a head coach.

On Tuesday, third year coach Terry Arrington announced he would not be returning as the Eagles head coach for the 2017 season.

On January 11, Ron Lambert stepped down as the Rossview coach.

Including Fort Campbell High School, this move leaves three area teams without head coaches heading into the off season.

“I would like to thank all my assistant coaches and players for the time, effort and commitment that they gave during the past three years,” Arrington said.

Arrington also served as Kenwood’s first coach and led the knights to the 1999 state semifinal game where they lost to Memphis East 14-12.

The Eagles made the playoffs in 2015, and were close again in 2016. A 24-14 loss to Rossview the last game of the season put the Hawks in post season and ended the Eagles’ playoff hopes. The Eagles, who return a very talented team next season, open their 2017 season against Central Hardin, Kentucky.
