CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The suspension of the Austin Peay State University cheerleading team came because of allegations of hazing and underage drinking, the university disclosed on Friday.
The team was suspended on Feb. 15, pending the outcome of the investigation. University officials have now concluded that investigation and have terminated the cheerleading program’s spirit coordinator, Maurice Grant, according to a news release.

“The individuals involved will be disciplined according to the appropriate university and athletics department policies,” the release said.
Because of federal student privacy guidelines, the university and athletics department are declining to comment on which students were being disciplined or in what manner.
