CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – More than 200 family, friends and fans got to enjoy this week’s American Idol episode with local contestant Haven Madison on Sunday.

Haven attended the watch party at Varsity Pins, joined by fellow contestant Oliver Steele and emcees from Q108. She also treated the crowd to a performance.

On Sunday’s American Idol episode, for the performance round, she offered her original song “Still Need You,” which she wrote in honor of her brother Avery, who battled depression and suicidal thoughts some years ago.

After the performance on the show, Haven said, “I sat at the piano as a broken teenager not knowing what the heck was going to happen to my family and my life. And to sing it on the stage in front of three idols, it was just really surreal.”

Sunday night at Varsity Pins, Haven shared how she was feeling. “It’s a vulnerable song, and to be able to touch people with that, people coming up to me telling me that it moved them, it inspired them, it’s all I could ever ask for,” she said.

Haven also thanked all of the people who joined her at the watch party. “Just that I am so grateful for their support, having this army behind me saying you can do it, you can do it, even when I don’t feel like I can, it keeps me going.”
