CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The wizarding world of Harry Potter makes an appearance at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library (350 Pageant Lane) on February 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. as a part of a worldwide celebration of the book series by author J.K. Rowling.
Muggles, witches, and wizards of all ages can join in the fun as areas throughout the library transform into Hogwarts, Diagon Alley, and Hogsmeade.
Enjoy a hands-on experiment in Potions Class, or have your tea leaves read in Divination. A live-animal Care of Magical Creatures Class taught by the Natural History Education Company of the Midsouth will feature different animals this year. There will be two sessions of the live-animal Care of Magical Creatures Class at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tickets are required to enter the class and will be available free of charge beginning at 4:30 p.m.
Tickets will also be required for the new Charms class with magician Russ Nowack. He will perform four mini-shows during the evening featuring tricks inspired by the spells of Harry Potter.
The theme for this year’s event is “Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.” During the event, a Horcrux Scavenger Hunt will be underway as fans search the building for clues to help Harry and his friends find the Horcruxes hidden in the library.
Trivia contests and games will give members of the Hogwarts houses chances to earn house points. At the end of the evening, library staff will announce which Hogwarts house has been awarded the most points, and the respective house will be awarded the House Cup.
People of all ages are invited to celebrate J.K. Rowling’s beloved novels and pass along the enchantment to another generation at their public library.
