CLARKSVILLE, TN − On April 29, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Join Hands On and Community Action Agency for a spring-cleaning community day, supporting Old Fire House Day Shelter and Resource Center, located at 1498 Golf Club Lane.

Volunteer projects will include:

  • Deep cleaning the children’s room
  • Prepping items for donation
  • Preparing the garden for the upcoming growing season
  • Clearing out brush, trimming multiple shrubs
  • Gutter cleanout
  • Organizing the kitchen, break room, storage room, clothing closet and pantry

Volunteers should wear comfortable work clothes that can get dirty. Gloves will be provided for projects that require them, but feel free to bring your own if you have them.

Hands On will have a collection of snacks and water on site that day, but lunch will not be provided. Please eat beforehand, or feel free to bring something.

This project is rated for those 18 and up if attending by yourself, 10 and up if coming with an adult. Anyone ages 10 to 12 are unable to have a profile in our volunteer systm due to internet privacy concerns. If you fall into this range and wish to volunteer while being accompanied by an adult, please email handson@unitedwaygn.org and we will help you set this up directly. This is a rain or shine event.
