CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – On Saturday October 4, the Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery, TN ReStore will host its fourth annual ‘ReCreate’ in the ReStore parking lot from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., a fall festival focusing on re-purposed materials, particularly those found in the ReStore.
In addition to the repurposed items, there will be a raffle, a tent sale, and pumpkin decorating.
Local artists such as Dave Schmidt, Marilyn Alberts, and Becky Hall and more will have items for display and sale made from repurposed and reused items.
To enter the raffle, please bring 3 or more non-perishable food items that will be donated to the Salvation Army.
Recreate is about members of our community committed to creating a more beautiful and endurable world through creative reuse showcasing how they are choosing to make their neighborhoods more environmentally and economically sustainable. ReCreate coincides with Habitat for Humanity World Habitat Day 2014. World Habitat Day is the one day set aside annually to recognize the basic right of all humanity to adequate shelter, and to encourage grassroots action toward ending poverty housing. The United Nations General Assembly declared in 1985 that the first Monday in October would be World Habitat Day.
In addition to recycled and repurposed items on display and the tent sale, kids will be able to decorate pumpkins provided by Sleepy Hollow Farm.
Recreate will be in the Habitat ReStore parking lot located at 404 Madison St. in downtown Clarksville, Saturday, Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Members of the Clarksville community are invited to come down for some family fun and pumpkin decorating and maybe follow it up with a trip out to Sleepy Hollow Farm.
