CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Habitat for Humanity in Montgomery County dedicated its 83 home to the Stephens family in partnership with First Baptist Church on Sunday, December 22. Construction on the new home began in October and it is located at 1327 Poplar Court in Clarksville.
Habitat for Humanity Executive Director, Shelby Logsdon talked about the home. “We’re very excited to welcome the Stephens family as homeowners in Clarksville. Sunny Stephens and her three children invested over 500 hours of sweat equity to build their home with the final hours spent working side by side with the First Baptist Church family,” said Logsdon.
Stephens was excited about her new home from Habitat for Humanity. “I feel it’s a real blessing, I feel I’ve come a long way and there was all of the hard work from everybody like all the volunteers. I just want to thank everybody who took the time to make it happen,” Stephens said.
Habitat hopes to build at least five homes in Clarksville-Montgomery County in 2014. The local Habitat for Humanity chapter says they need more sponsors to make that possible. Home sponsorship’s are an ideal way for organizations and businesses to invest in the Clarksville community.
