CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new EMS and fire station in the Industrial Park near the site of future Hankook Tire plant took place at 11 a.m. on January 30.
The site of EMS 30 and Fire Station 12 is located at 2941 Industrial Blvd., just past the Agero office building.
The station is intended in part to service the tire plant, which is predicted begin making high-end performance tires by early 2016. Hankook, the world’s seventh-largest tire maker, announced in 2013 that it will build the $800 million facility in Clarksville. It’s expected to create 1,800 jobs.
Among those attending the Groundbreaking Ceremony were Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett, City of Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan, Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson and EMS Chief Jimmy Edwards.
Mayor Durrett talked about the partnership among the State of Tennessee, Industrial Development Board, Montgomery County and the City of Clarksville that made the EMS and fire station possible.
Mayor McMillan thanked all those involved in the project, noting that the station will not only benefit businesses in the Industrial Park, but also residents of the area.
