Gregory “Greg” Mark Mann, 67, of Clarksville, TN was called to his heavenly home by his Lord on December 21, 2022.
Greg grew up in Centralia IL where he graduated Centralia High School and attended Kaskaskia Junior College. While at Kaskaskia, he met the love of his life, Becky Frimel. The two married in 1976 and later attended Southern Illinois University where Greg received his degree in Thermal Engineering. Following graduation, Greg and Becky moved to Clarksville, TN where he worked for TVA as a mechanical engineer, and they raised their family of three children. Greg was a long-time member of Pleasant View Baptist Church where he regularly attended and enjoyed fellowship.
Greg had a lifelong passion for hot air ballooning, shortwave radio operating and camping. He loved to tinker in a garage from a very young age. Early favorites were chemistry sets and fuel cells; and later, motor engines. Whether car or lawn mower: either or both would be in various states of repair that required his attention and oversight. Besides being a tinkering officiant, Greg and Becky greatly enjoyed camping with their children and beloved grandchildren.
Greg was predeceased by his parents Jack R. Mann and Juanita Smith Mann; both of Centralia, IL.
He is survived by his wife, Becky Frimel Mann; their three children: son, Curt R. Mann (and his wife, Brittany); son, Eric R. Mann (and his wife, Kathleen); and, daughter, Amy R. Joyner (and her husband, Tim); as well as his sister, Michele O. Miller; a niece, Meredith O. Miller and nephew, Madison J. Miller. He was further blessed and survived by seven wonderful grandchildren whom he greatly enjoyed: Ben, Abby, Riley, Jacob and Jonathan Mann; and Neva and Myla Joyner. Greg will be greatly missed by his devoted wife, Becky of forty-six (46) years as well as his friends and family.
