CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Green Hill Lady Hawks traveled to Kenwood High School on Thursday night for a matchup with the Knights. The Hawks took control of the game early, and while Kenwood battled late, the early lead was too much to overcome, and Green Hill won 80-32.

The Hawks’ offense came out on fire, scoring 34 points in the first eight minutes of the contest, including 14 points from guard KT Tolbert during that span. Green Hill continued to pour it on in the second quarter, and the Knights had no answer. Kenwood trailed 56-19 at the half.

“Green Hill is a really quality team,” said Kenwood head coach Jemiah Harrison. “We knew what we were up against, and we didn’t guard them well in transition. We’re young, and we still need to learn discipline defensively, and against good teams like that, that’s going to kill us.”

The Knights were led in scoring on the night by Sy’Nya Seay and Ebene Hinton with 10 points each, as Green Hill had three players with 15 or more points, and the Knights fell 80-32, dropping their record to 0-2 on the year.

Despite the result, Harrison is focused on controlling what her squad can control and letting the rest take care of itself.

“No matter if we’re up 50 or down 40, we have to play with effort, attitude, and energy till the buzzer goes off,” Harrison told Clarksville Now. “You can’t win a game that you don’t think you’re going to win, so we have to control our attitude and play like winners all 32 minutes.”
