CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Greater Missionary Baptist Church, located at 450 Ringgold Road, will host a blood drive from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on March 16.
Those interested in donating at the drive should visit the “Give Blood. Find a Drive” page on the Red Cross website and enter the sponsor code: GMBC. Online registration allows participants to schedule their donation times.
Sickle cell testing will also take place during the event.
According to the statistics from the Sickle Cell Information Center website, one out of ten African Americans have the sickle cell trait and one out of 625 newborns have the disease.
