Grass fire reported off Old Russellville Pike

The fire occurred near the railroad tracks.

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A grass fire was reported Thursday afternoon in Clarksville off Old Russelville Pike near the railroad tracks.

No structures were involved and firefighters were able to extinguish the flames quickly.

Fire Marshal Ray Williams said an official cause has not yet been determined, but investigators believe the fire may have been started by sparks from passing rail cars.

No injuries were reported.
