CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – “Soul food means when people take their time and cook from the soul,” said James Long, owner of Granny’s Soul Food. “It’s taking your time, seasoning the food.”
Granny’s Soul Food opened to the public in 2022 at their original location on Fort Campbell Boulevard. Now, three years later, they are expanding their reach across Clarksville to better serve their customers with a second location, this one on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard.

“A lot of our customers, for three years, have been asking us when we’re coming to Wilma, when are we coming to Sango,” Long said. “Our customers demand, and we supply.”
Although Granny’s Soul Food has only been in business for three years, Long brings a wealth of knowledge and decades of experience cooking in the kitchen with his grandmother. Smothered pork chops, yams, chicken and dressing and other Southern delicacies are Long’s family recipes that he and his staff cook to order for their customers.
“We really appreciate all of our supporters that have been with us since day one” Long said. “We’ve got a lot of new menu items coming, especially at the Wilma location. … We’re just going to keep applying pressure.”
The new location for Granny’s Soul Food is at 2030 Wilma Rudolph Blvd., and they are open every day from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. The original Granny’s Soul Food Restaurant at 3095 Fort Campbell Blvd. and will continue to serve customers from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
