NASHVILLE, Tenn. – For the first time since 2010, Austin Peay State University’s baseball team is scheduled to play nationally-ranked Vanderbilt, the teams agreeing to a 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 26 contest at Hawkins Field.
The teams played annually from 1984-2010 and have met 76 times since the series’ first meeting in 1938. The Govs 2007 NCAA Tournament contest against the then No. 1 Commodores ranks among APSU’s all-time greatest games.
The game was added to the schedule after the Govs two-game series at Arkansas State, March 8-9, was rained out, creating an opening in the schedule.
It will be part of a busy stretch for the Govs, who now will play eight games in 10 days from April 22-May 1.
Listen to the game on ESPN Clarksville 100.7 FM/540 AM.
