CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Governors Square Mall celebrated close to 30 years in Clarksville with a Grand Reopening celebration Saturday and Sunday, November 15 & 16. Hundreds turned out for the event which featured a ribbon cutting, celebrity appearances, entertainment and food.
After a ribbon cutting Saturday, fans lined up almost the entire length of the mall inside to see Peyton List who plays Emma on the Disney TV series Jesse. The Tennessee Titans cheerleaders along with T-Rac as well as cheerleaders and the Governor from Austin Peay State University were also there.
Over six-months ago Governors Square began an extensive renovation with most of the work taking place in the overnight hours when the mall was closed. Improvements included new carpeting and tile flooring, ceilings and skylights, renovated public restrooms and other customer amenities.
Also Saturday, the Cafaro Company who owns Governors Square made donations to both the Aspire Clarksville Foundation and Fort Campbell Fisher House in the amount of $5,000 each. To learn more about Governors Square Mall go to www.governorssquare.net.
