CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin was in Hopkinsville Monday to announce indiscretionary road funds for the City of Oak Grove and Christian County.

Bevin announced that $188,247 will be spent by the state to resurface Van Buren Avenue in Oak Grove with work on the roadway expected to begin within the next month.

“It’s going to be a huge asset to us. We’ve been wanting to fix it for several years. We’ve been saving our road aid money for several years so now we have the opportunity to get it completed. I’m very, very, excited about it and grateful for the governor for allowing it to happen for our city,” said Oak Grove Mayor, Theresa Jarvis,

In addition to the Oak Grove road work, Christian County Fiscal Court is receiving a $555,369 for resurfacing improvements to Pleasant View Acres Road, North Ridge Drive, Old Palestine Road and Newton Lane.
