CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Governor Bill Lee announced today Executive Order 30, which limits many personal care business and entertainment venues from opening until May 29.

According to the Executive Order the following businesses the “perform close-contact personal services” will continue to stay closed:
- Barber shops
- Hair salons
- Waxing salons
- Threading salons
- Nail salons or spas
- Spas providing body treatments
- Body art facilities, tattoo services
- Tanning salons
- Massage therapy and massage services
Entertainment and recreational venues must remain closed. This includes:
- Bars
- Night Clubs
- Live Performance Venues
- Bowling Alleys
- Arcades
- Concert and Sporting Event Venues
- Racetracks
- Indoor Children’s Play Areas
- Adult Entertainment Venues
- Amusement Parks
- Senior Centers
- Skating Rinks
Social and recreational gatherings of 10 people or more are prohibited, including but not limited to festivals, fairs, parades, youth and adult sporting events, and overnight summer youth camps.
The executive order does not include places of worship “for which there will be guidelines for safe operation of worship services and gatherings if in-person services are conducted”. Online and virtual services are still strongly recommended.
Weddings and funerals are also outside of this executive order, however officials urge caution for large gathering components of these events.
The executive order is in effect until May 29 but also states “it is anticipated that in the near future development of additional business guidelines will allow for reopening additional businesses safely,” and that the order will be amended accordingly.
