CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Gov. Bill Lee announced Monday morning that all Tennesseans age 16 and up will be eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine no later than April 5.

“And here’s the big news: no later than April 5, every Tennessean age 16 and up will be eligible to receive the vaccine, and a few counties will begin that process in the coming days,” Gov. Lee said in a video announcement posted to Twitter.

“The federal government has asked us to make sure that every adult can receive access by May 1, and Tennessee will beat that deadline,” Gov. Lee continued in the video.

There is no word yet on when Montgomery County will begin this process. The county announced last week that they would be moving ahead the state’s vaccine distribution and begin to vaccinate those in Phase 2 and those who are 55 and older on Friday.
