CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Goodwill location at 1596 Fort Campbell Blvd. is set to close on Dec. 15, 2018.
Goodwill Industries of Middle TN spokesperson Chris Fletcher said the store has been under performing, and therefore the company has opted to close the store rather than renew the expiring 12-month lease.
The store was re-branded as a 99 cent outlet last year after not meeting its budgetary goals, according to Fletcher. The lease was extended for 12 months to test the new format, which has not done as well as anticipated.
The store will officially close on Dec. 15 and the Donation Express Center will close Dec. 31.
Beginning Dec. 2, all items in the store will be reduced to 50 cents.
Goodwill maintains two standard stores in Clarksville at 2001 Needmore Rd. and 1945 Madison Street. Fletcher said there will be no changes to these stores in the immediate future.
