WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (WKRN) – The Goodlettsville All-Stars beat a little league team out of Iowa 14 to 3 Wednesday afternoon, continuing their quest in the Little League World Series.
The hometown team will now play for a fourth straight day on Thursday. They’ll play the loser of the Bowling Green/New York game at 6:30 p.m.
The All-Stars are now just four games away from winning the Little League World Series.
On Wednesday afternoon, hundreds of miles away at Davidson Academy, students cheered on the All-Stars.
Students were allowed to skip their last period of the day at school for a watch party and to cheer on one of their classmates, second baseman Easton Dillard.
“Our students are excited about Easton because he’s part of our family and at Davidson Academy. We are a strong family,” Jan Baldwin, head of the lower school said.
Senior Blake Osborne said he knows just how Easton feels since he played on the All-Stars four years ago when the team competed for the World Series title.
“It’s just a dream to go play in the Little League World Series and win it all, but still possible,” Osborne said.
Brock Myers, fellow senior and All-Stars player, added, “Oh, it brings back tons of memories watching every game, seeing the teams they play. Like they were playing California last night, makes me think of the big 24-16 game we had against them. I think of all the little stuff we had in Williamsport that was crazy.”
