Gloria Jan Hite Shelton passed away in her home on July 9, 2014 surrounded by loving family and friends under the tender care of Tennessee Quality Hospice.

A longtime resident of Clarksville, TN, Gloria was born on July 25, 1954. She spent eight years of her childhood living on Long Island, NY. She graduated from Montgomery Central High School in 1972 and later graduated with honors from Austin Peay State University, where she earned her Bachelors of Science Degree from APSU’s School of Nursing. She attended Salem United Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing, shopping, and spending time with her family.

Gloria is survived by her husband, General Sessions and Juvenile Court Judge Wayne C. Shelton of Clarksville, TN; father, Jimmie H. Hite of Springfield, TN; mother, Margie B. Hite of Clarksville, TN; son, William Isaac Shelton of Clarksville, TN; daughter, Emily (Josh) Bryant Medvecky of Clarksville, TN; two step-sons, Anderson C. (Jacqui) Shelton of Greenbrier, TN and David W. Shelton of Clarksville, TN; step-daughter, Beth (Bill) Shelton Hayes of Memphis, TN; two brothers, Jimmie H. (Cheryl) Hite, Jr. of Cunningham, TN and Randy (Amanda) Hite of Waverly, TN; sister, Marianne H. Williams of Clarksville, TN; granddaughter, Katherine Chase Medvecky; four step-grandchildren, Michelle (Ethan) Shelton Doute, Anderson C. Shelton, II, Olivia Catherine Hayes, and Mitchell Isaac Hayes; five nephews; one niece; and one great nephew.

Memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2014 at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Steve Lannom and Myranel Bryant officiating. Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m.until 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2014 and from 4:30 p.m. until the time of service Friday, July 11, 2014 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be her nephews Jeremy Hite, Ryan Hite, Randal Hite, Travis Hite, and Jacob Hite. Honorary pallbearers will be Byron Edmonds, Ray Henley, Judge Raymond L. Grimes, Garry Sharp, and Robert (Bob) Krueckeberg.
