A Celebration of Life service for Gloria Jean Hampton, age 78 of Clarksville, will be Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at 12 p.m. at Sykes Funeral Home. Bro. Andy Haley will officiate. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Gloria passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at Tennova Healthcare surrounded by her family. She entered this life on November 21, 1942, to the late Emory E. and Lillie Mae McEver in Atlanta, GA.

In her later years, she devoted her time as a homemaker to her family. Gloria was a loving wife of 60 years, a mother, a grandmother, and recently a great-grandmother. She loved and cherished her family and made sure to raise them up knowing the Lord. She was a member of First Baptist Clarksville, TN. Gloria sang in the choir and loved to sing praises to God. Singing is how she met her husband of 60 years. She loved her Sunday School Class and was active as much as she could be.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Albert L. McEver.

Gloria is survived by her husband, John A. Hampton; daughters, Lisa (Daniel) Lewellen and Sheryl (Wayne) Richardson; son, Marc (Christy) Hampton; sister, Beverly Samples; brother, Emory E. McEver, Jr.; grandchildren: Brent Richardson, Mataia Hampton, Holden Hampton, Sarah Grace Lewellen, Baytley Cardwell, Tyler Evitts, Landen Evitts, and Emajen Ratliff; and great-granddaughter, Briella Richardson.

Pallbearers will be Marc Hampton, Brent Richardson, Holden Hampton, Baytley Cardwell, Tyler Evitts, and Landen Evitts. Honorary pallbearers will be her sons-in-law, Wayne Richardson and Daniel Lewellen.
