Glen Deverl Davis went to be with his Jesus on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at the age of 82, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Glen was born March 25, 1939, and grew up in Mentone, Indiana. He graduated from Indiana University, served in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman, was the Manager of the Christian Servicemen’s Center in Clarksville, and was a teacher in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System for many years. Glen also worked weekends for many years at the Scott Antique Market in Atlanta, Georgia.

Glen is survived by his Sweetheart, Jean Davis (nee Scott), to whom he was married for 57 years. He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Christy James (Russ), Joy Davis Ripley (Chuck), Daniel Davis (Lisa); grandchildren, Azure and Zephie Davis Ripley; siblings, Roscoe Davis, Alyce Goltry, Dan Davis; brother-in-law, Ron McDugle (Donna); his in-laws Marie Tosh, Don Scott (Betty), Wilma Andre (Wayne), John Scott; and many precious nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Roscoe and Ina; his brother John; his sister Janice; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Tosh and Paul Scott.

Glen deeply loved his Lord Jesus, his family, his friends, and his students. He held Bible Studies at Fort Campbell, KY, taught Sunday School and Children’s Church, and led a Chess Club for his students. He was a member of Hilldale Baptist Church and also attended St. Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. Glen was a member of the Gideons.

The family wishes to thank friends, medical staff, and caregivers who extended their love and assistance in recent years.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 5, at 3:00 PM, at Greenwood Cemetery, with Pastor Frederick Daniels, Pastor Ron McDugle, Daniel Davis, and Chuck Ripley officiating.

Honorary Pallbearers are Daniel Davis, Chuck Ripley, Russ James, Roscoe Davis, Dan Davis, Ron McDugle, Kenneth Allbert, George Cross, Michael Cross, David Hicks.
