CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – For this edition of Giving Grace, we’ll learn more about Hope Pregnancy Center, a nonprofit organization that has served the Clarksville-Montgomery County community since 1988.
According to Executive Director Martha Sitzler, Hope Pregnancy Center’s mission is to cultivate hope one life at a time with their primary focus on pregnant and parenting women.
She added they are proud of their work and because of the center’s efforts over the past 32 years, 11,378 babies have been brought into the world that might otherwise have not been born.
Hope Pregnancy Center offers what they call a healing program, has a primary focus on women who have had an abortion and or women, as well as couples, who have experienced a miscarriage and are struggling with those problems.
This year Hope Pregnancy Center partnered with Reboot Recovery which has a program called Trauma Reboot which is being offered at the center for women who are dealing with trauma from physical, emotional, or sexual abuse.
“It’s a 12-week course for women who have experienced trauma sometime in their life and are ready to unpack that and discover what it means to live with peach and love after trauma and a woman doesn’t have to be a client of the center to be a part of the program,” Sitzler said.
Hope Pregnancy Center closed for a very short time last year due to the pandemic, but Sitzler wanted to let everyone know they are open at this time and serving clients. This year’s Walk for Life fundraiser was one of their most successful ever and it is set for October this year.
There are a number of ways to show your support for Hope Pregnancy Center. Sitzler said one of the best ways is to share information about the center so more people will know they are there to help. They also accept donations of baby and maternity clothes, especially in larger sizes.
Sitzler added that of course there is always a need for diapers, lots of diapers, and they appreciate those businesses and individuals who partner with them financially or participating in fundraisers like Walk for Life.
“One of our target numbers for donations is $53 a month. With a gift of $53 a month you will cover the cost of services for a patient through every step of their relationship with Hope Pregnancy Center,” Sitzer said.
Hope Pregnancy Center is located at 325 N. 2nd Street, and they are open Monday 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday 12-5 p.m. and Thursday 9 a.m.-2 p.m. They are closed Friday-Sunday. visit hopepregnancy.net or call 931-645-2273.
