Gilbert Martin Halliday, age 92, of Woodlawn, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at his residence.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Needmore Church of Christ with Bro. Johnny Burkhart officiating. Burial will follow at Needmore Church of Christ Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.

Gilbert entered into this life September 15, 1932, in Stewart County, TN to the late Glen and Gertrude Bellamy Halliday. At the age of 22, Gilbert enlisted in the U.S. Army where he fearlessly served his country for eight years before being honorably discharged. Afterwards he worked at Trane Company for thirty-three years until his retirement. He had a lifelong passion for hunting and fishing. Gilbert was a faithful member and Deacon of Needmore Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Jewel Burkhart Halliday, one sister, and three brothers.

Survivors include his son, Jerry (Sandra) Halliday; daughters, Judy (Ronald) Burkhart, and Barbara (Steve) Wilson; grandchildren, Kerri (Scott) Mosier; Christopher (Constance) Burkhart, Trent (Maegan) Wilson, Brad (Dalisa) Wilson, Andrew Wilson; great-grandchildren, Mary Katherine, Alex, and Maddox Mosier, Peter, Laura, and Shawn Burkhart, Everett, Avery, and Aiden Wilson, and Bentley Smartt.
